At Winding Path Inc. our client work remains confidential, however, from time to time, clients encourage us to share their experience with others.
Jill Chandler came to the Living Your Potential program as part of the journey back to herself from a significantly painful loss. After her high climb experience during the program, she wrote this gorgeous, heart-filling song about the impact the program has had for her. We are so grateful for her willingness to share her experience and for the inspiration she is. Here is Jill’s song.
“I had had a year of changes – a new business, a cross country move, and a deep personal loss. I was feeling like there were so many things that needed to be improved that I didn’t know where to start. I felt uninspired, lost and, at times, hopeless. Kirstin and Karolyn have unique gifts in shaping the group conversations so everyone has a chance to be listened to and gently challenged. I learned a lot about myself from the Living Your Potential program. It gave me the confidence to recognize my value and worth, which led to a life changing decision that has spilled over into my professional life and I’ve just had the best month of business to date. This re-ignition of hope is priceless and profound. I am experiencing my day to day life in a different way – more grounded in myself – and this is something I’m grateful for each day.”

“I wasn’t sure if it would be worth it. I don’t have a second to spare. I have been to a lot of workshops that I haven’t gotten much out of. Going to the Winding Path workshop turned out to be the best possible use of my time. As a result of the workshop I am different, I am doing things differently, I am interacting differently and interacting with new people. The changes in me are leading to new results, better results – everything is just falling into place. The confidence and openness I feel now seems to draw people in and draw in better results. It’s like people want to ride the wave with me.
I picture my future differently since the workshop. I feel really empowered. I feel like smiling all of the time. I am facing new challenges, not avoiding them. The workshop changed my life and I now see my future differently. I haven’t felt like this in a long time, if I ever did.”

“I’ve taken a lot of workshops and courses during my 30 year public service career and can honestly say the “Living Your Potential Workshop” is one of the best I’ve ever taken. From the first email I received from Karolyn and Kirstin, I had a feeling it was going to be a life changer and that’s exactly what it turned out to be. I discovered deep rooted beliefs that were keeping me stuck in self-limiting thought and behaviour patterns, preventing me from reaching my full potential, both personally and professionally. The workshop leaders created a safe and supportive environment that allowed me to dig deep below the layers of fear and doubt where I discovered a source of great inner strength and courage that had been lying dormant for many years.
[Since the workshop], I have gone on many new adventures I always thought I couldn’t do because I wasn’t enough – strong enough, brave enough, athletic enough. I no longer feel the need to seek external validation. I am more confident. I’ve re-discovered my creative side that had been hidden away for more than 40 years. I’m excited about the future and am more committed than ever to taking personal responsibility to live out my life purpose and not settle for anything less.”

“Winding Path Inc. brings a really fresh and creative approach to event facilitation. Often, business events are a sequence of speakers or activities. We wanted to do something different for our Symposium. Learning, networking and supporting women in business are the core mandates of our organization and the Symposium was one of the most well-rounded events we’ve ever done, because it hit them all, thanks to the agenda carefully created and facilitated by winding path inc.
The single biggest piece of feedback we received from delegates was that the activities facilitated by Winding Path Inc. helped them to connect with so many new people, and create genuine business relations that resulted in real business activity. From the minute delegates walked in the door, it was interesting, intriguing, welcoming and comfortable.”

“Our team participated in a Winding Path Inc. retreat. We stayed at the Hillhurst Inn and had the inn to ourselves. We loved the feel of the inn; a relaxed atmosphere. Each of us had the privilege of being spoiled for the entire retreat: awesome food, great activities, in-room massages! The importance of self-care in the helping profession is paramount and Kirstin and Karolyn facilitated details wonderfully! I came back to work really refreshed.
Team Building was the main benefit of the retreat. We got to know each other on a different level. After the retreat, I felt more of a personal connection to my team and that connection helps with communication in the work that we do. It feels good to know that we have each other’s backs. The retreat created a memory as a team that impacts our cohesiveness. I felt a real sense of pride in our team when I looked at the pictures from those three days. We left the retreat thinking ‘how can we do this more often?’
Some insights were:
- Never give up. We witnessed a co-worker reach inside herself and find inner strength to climb.
- We witnessed individuals push themselves outside comfort levels in their own journey of discovering self.
- We witnessed incredible support amongst co-workers that has been there for several years, having been through work and personal challenges/thick and thin together.
THANK YOU for the opportunity and the planning that went into this retreat. One that will never be forgotten!”

“Attending the “A Bold Vision” conference, facilitated by Winding Path Inc., was a life changing event for me. The stars seem to have aligned during this conference and I attribute this to the way in which it was designed and facilitated. The conference included the usual panel discussions, individual presentations and workshops. The difference for me was in the round table discussions both before and after presentations, a conference journal with questions to reflect upon, time built in to the conference to do the reflection and to journal thoughts around those questions, and many opportunities for conversation, questions and discussion with speakers and other participants. All of this was so helpful to absorbing what was presented and learning from it. Often I will leave a conference with good intentions to implement what I have learned, but it never happens. After this conference, I went home and continued the reflection and journalling started at the event and took immediate action on implementing ideas and thoughts I identified. Thank you Karolyn Godfrey and Kirstin Lund for this EXCELLENT experience.”

“Before the workshop I was kind of lost. My projects were at an end and I didn’t know what to do with my life. I was trying to keep busy every day but avoiding the real task of looking at my future.
I couldn’t believe what happened at the ropes course. I accomplished something I didn’t know I was capable of doing – but I did it, no one did it for me, I did it. It was also amazing witnessing the other women changing and facing their fears. I could see it happening.
The workshop was such a different experience. I would do it again in a heartbeat. It gave me confidence again. The week after the workshop I took my first steps that have led me to starting my own business. The workshop gave me the confidence to go back out into the world. It woke me up from my numbness.”
